Flights Booked!

Today, we booked our flights through Adoption Airfare.  We don't have a confirmed Consulate Appointment (CA) yet, but we feel pretty confident that everything will work out fine.  We will be flying American Airlines (AA) this time.  We are looking forward to flying on the new Dream Liner that AA has to offer.  AA is new for us!

Family Project

Today, Joel hung up Jason's wooden art piece in his room.  He had to move Jayden's over to make room for it.  It was definitely a family project! Looks pretty good!  This is the last piece needed for his room to be complete!

Article 5 Issued and Pick Up Today!

We just received notification that the Adopted Children's Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Consulate in Guangzhou has finished processing Jason's Article 5 (signed 2nd acceptance letter) and was picked up by our Adoption Agency and off to the China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA).  In about a week, the CCCWA, will issue our Travel Approval (TA).  It is so exciting to be this close!  The next couple of weeks will be spent absorbing as much time as possible with the kiddos, gathering goods for the trip, and packing! One step closer!

An Awesome Surprise!

October 21, 2015

Today, we were sent a very brief update and pictures of our Jason! The update suggests that Jason is in good health.  He can sit, crawl, walk, and run.  He can say many words and can put words together.    The orphanage workers call him Guang Jian.  He is active and likes candy, balls, toy cars and noisy toys.  We are so very thankful to get this update as we worried that we wouldn't.  It is very concerning that his weight is just a tad over 18 lbs.  He is definitely teeny tiny!  With plenty of prayers, food and love, he will flourish in amazing ways!

Article 5 Drop Off

October 13, 2015

Today was another BIG milestone for the Mangas clan!  Our article 5 was dropped off to the US Embassy in China!  Basically, this is the NVC letter we received, Jason's visa application, and our Letter Of Acceptance (LOA).  The consulate will review Jason's visa application to make sure it meets their qualifications and requirements for an immigrant visa.  The Embassy will then sign off that everything is in order for the adoption to take place.  An Article 5 letter is generated.  Once our representative in China picks up the Article 5 (which will be scheduled for 10/27/15), it will be delivered directly to the CCCWA for our Travel Approval!  ONE STEP CLOSER!

Happy Birthday Jason!

October 11, 2015

I wish we could celebrate your birthday with you sweet boy!  We think about you every single day and can't wait to bring you home!!!!

I-800 PA, NVC, DS-260!!

October 9, 2015

Another milestone hit!!!!!!!!
We  got our I-800 Provisional  Approval from the National Benefit Center.  This basically means that the National Benefits Center issued our I-800 Provisional Approval and sent our information to the National Visa Center (NVC). They will forward the visa petition to the appropriate Embassy in Guangzhou, China.  The NVC sent us our case number to be able to complete the DS-260 visa application for Jason.  The confirmation page of the DS-260 and the NVC letter was sent to CCAI.  The next milestone is Article 5 drop off in Guangzhou!  Each step draws us a little closer to our baby!

Jason's Room Coming Together

We decided today was the day to put Jason's bed up.  Joel worked on putting the bed parts together  while I worked on the closet.  Our friend, Susan, gave us tons of clothes that Jason will be able to wear.  We are ready for him with tons of clothes and toys!

Shopping Day

Today, we went shopping for Jason's Birthday.  He will still be in China on his Birthday which is October 11, 12.  It takes about two weeks to get a package to a China Orphanage, so we are gathering items now.  I made a photo album complete with pictures of the family, labeled in Chinese so the orphanage workers could read it to Jason.  I put a few pictures of him in the album too!!  We stuck other things in the box such as a cozy blanket, toys, candy for Jason and the orphanage workers, etc.  It's so hard to miss these precious milestones.  We just have to keep reminding ourselves that soon, we will be united with our sweet peanut!

DTC!

On July 10th, our adoption agency informed us that our dossier made it to China, a huge milestone.

We are one step closer to bringing home our little man!

Our paperwork was logged in with China on 7/16, giving us our Log In Date (LID).

Surprise, Surprise!

On June 1st, our dossier was sent to CCAI for their critical review before being sent to China. We were incredibly relieved to have these documents out of our hands, in turn, making us one step closer to completing this journey.
One afternoon, we received a call from CCAI, informing us they had a file for us to take a look at. In sheer joy, we gladly told them we would be happy to review it. This came as a shock to us due to our lack of preparation at this point in time in the process. In the last two adoptions, we received our files after we received our log-in date with China. This wonderful surprise left us flabbergasted, in wonder of what exactly God was planning.
Upon opening the file on our computer after Joel came home from work, we immediately saw a gorgeous little boy. We were all at a loss for words, falling in love with little Hu Guang Jian. He was diagnosed with a urinary complication. We quickly got a letter together to take to our Pediatrician's office, along with photos and medical records, hoping for his honest advice. After reviewing the file, he got back with us and said he had spoken with a urologist college of his. The urologist was  eased with the diagnosis and was prepared to preform multiple surgeries on him when little Jian comes home. Our pediatrician announced his approval, encouraging us to continue with this adoption. Music to our ears! With much prayer and this professional opinion, we decided to move forward with adopting Hu Guang Jian!!! We immediately started working on the Letter of Intent (LOI) to send to China.  Woo Hoo!

Our New Journey

After returning home from China in a bustling household with four kids, Joel and I had't quite expected God to lead us once again to the path of adoption. Despite our assumptions, He had other plans for us. We faithfully completed CCAI's application for adoption on January 8th, 2015. Excited and nervous (still just as much so as we were with our first adoption), we began to patiently wait for our approval, which came on January 15th, 2015. At this point, we started gathering the necessary documents to begin the compilation of our dossier. In less than four months, on May 5th, our I-800 document was approved. Joel and I were awed seeing all that God had in store for us. We introduced to the kids the idea of having a new sibling here soon, to which they all were excited about. Each night, they began to pray for their new brother. This warmed our hearts in such a time of distress with the prospect of being matched soon.
We were fortunate enough to skate through the dossier preparation with few complications along the way. At this point, we began waiting for the day our child whom we have yet to meet, but love so dearly, to come home.
