Post Surgery
Jason is home and resting peacefully from the surgery. The surgery lasted about four hours. The surgeon, Dr. Cameron Schaeffer, came out to let us know that the surgery was a success. Jason had a cystoscope while under general anesthesia, Chordee release, and first stage repair of the penoscrotal transposition (scrotoplasty arua). Jason has a catheter in and will need to go to the surgeon's office on Monday to remove it. Praise God we are on the other side of surgery. It has been a very trying and emotional day. May God heal this precious little guy quick!!
Pictures!!
Here are a few pictures over the past month or so while waiting to be called back to the surgery room.
Major Surgery Day 4/12/16
Today marks a very special, but emotional day for all of us – especially Jason. Today Jason will undergo his first major surgery to repair his male anatomy. Jason is happy and easygoing right now as we wait for the hospital staff to call us back.
Grandma and grandpa came down to be with the other kiddos and to support our sweet Jason. We are very thankful. The surgery is supposed to take 3–4 hours. The surgeon, Dr. Schaeffer, is running very late. We are ready for this process to begin. May God be with Jason as well as the surgeon and operating staff. We are so thankful for our precious little man!!
